Broncos Compete in Bronco Open and Bronco Bash
Hastings, NE - The Hastings College men's and women's bowling teams were in action this past weekend taking part in the Bronco Open and Bronco Bash on Saturday and Sunday at Pastime Lanes. The men finished third in the Open and fourth in the Bash while the women placed 13th in the Open and 12th in the Bash.
On day one, Hastings was paced by Dave Shields (SR/Omaha, NE) as he averaged 209 over the four games which was good enough to finish eighth.
Tyler Seely averaged 205.7 over a three game stretch to place 36th and Anthony Hernandez (FR) averaged 197.7 to place 37th.
Marcel Mullen (SR/Hastings, NE) averaged 226 over a three game stretch earned him 34th place and Zach Garcia (JR/Parker, CO) averaged 202 over a three game stretch as well.
Hastings went on to finish third with a total pin count of 7090. Ottawa won with a score of 7238.
Kaitlin Crallis paced the women's team by finishing 25th with an average of 173 over four games. Alslynn Davis finished 38th averaging 162.75. The women finished day one with a team total of 5815 while Midland won with a team score of 6558.
Brennin Leach (JR/Grand Island, NE) finished fifth on the All-Tournament Team with his performance.
In the Baker competitions on Sunday, the Hastings men finished fourth with a team total of 6629. Midland won the event with a score of 6926.
The women finished the Baker with a team score of 5808 while Grand View won with a score of 6505.
Hastings will be back in action Feb. 13-14 to take part in the Cedar Valley Invitational and the Cadillac XC in Waterloo, IA.
