(Hastings, Nebraska) – Beginning on Sunday, October 4, Hastings College will transition to the ORANGE level on its phased guideline matrix. This means the College will return to in-person classes on Monday and regularly scheduled athletic contests.
Some additional guidance remains in effect for athletic teams and group gatherings.
The number of students with COVID positive test results remains low, with just six active cases on campus at this time. The guideline matrix and campus dashboard can be found at hastings.edu/return.
The College entered the PINK level on its matrix on Tuesday, September 29, which meant most classes moved online and athletic practices and competitions were paused. The campus moved to the higher level due to the number of students being tested and in isolation or quarantine.
"Our need for continued vigilance remains vital," said Dr. Rich Lloyd, executive president of the College. "COVID positive test results continue to rise in Adams County and throughout the region, and it is important that Hastings College students, faculty and staff continue to practice and model the good habits of wearing masks, washing hands and remaining at an appropriate distance."
Hastings College is Nebraska's premier private college. A four-year residential college that focuses on student academic and extracurricular achievement, Hastings' student-centered initiatives include providing books, an iPad and a two-week study away experience at no additional cost. A block-style semester schedule allows professors and students to focus on fewer classes at a time and promotes hands-on experiences. Discover more at hastings.edu.
