Thank You, Adam - CoSIDA Recognition Week
Hastings- For the past five years, Adam Maser, Grand Island native and Hastings College alumnus, has served as the first full-time Sports Information Director for Hastings College. As the Sports Information Director, Maser not only records stats and updates Twitter. Amongst his duties are, but not limited to; maintaining the entire athletic website, writing press releases, taking photos, creating and editing videos, and acting as a liaison to the GPAC, NAIA, and other media outlets for Hastings College.
The week of November 6-12 is the CoSIDA Recognition Week. The purpose of the week is to promote and thank those who work in the Sports Information industry.
When it comes to Adam and his time at Hastings College, here is what some of the coaches and myself had to say;
Dr. Travis Feezell - President
"How do you know a great SID? It's a Saturday night, cold, and a soccer game with only a few people in the stands. And there's Adam ... not because he has to be, but because he supports the students and is there with a smile. That's a great SID."
Patty Sitorius - Athletic Director
"Hastings College is fortunate to have such a dedicated Sports Information Director in Adam Maser. Adam was hired as the very first full-time SID at Hastings College a few short years ago and has developed and established our Bronco athletic program's storied history. He works long hours and is present at all home contests. He surrounds himself with very capable student help and provides wonderful experiential learning for our students. Thank you Adam Maser for what you do for Bronco Athletics."
Chris Clements - Assistant Athletic Director / Women's Soccer Head Coach
"Adam, is one of the most hard-working, diligent SIDs that I've ever had the pleasure of working with. His ability to manage multiple tasks and get articles, Twitter, and the website up-to-date seconds after games makes a huge impact to the student athletes at Hastings College"
Ron Hergott - Lifetime Sports Director / Men's and Women's Bowling Head Coach
"Adam is a great SID in the fact that he honestly cares about the students and the college that he works for."
Troy Baker - Softball Head Coach
"I think Adam shows passion and enthusiasm for the sports at Hastings College. Our team has been grateful to Adam for the help and flexibility of the staff. Thanks."
Jina Douglas - Women's Basketball Head Coach
"Since I was hired 2.5 years ago, Adam has been more than helpful with our website, the National Tournament and everything in between. He has been great to work with and we appreciate everything he does for our program."
Comron Yazdgerdi - Men's Tennis Head Coach
"I have always appreciated how quickly Adam has taken care of business. The moment I email or text him... he seems to drop what he is doing to get my request finished and online! I have always appreciated his demeanor every time I walk past his office. He always has a smile on his face, asks how I am doing, and congratulates me and the team for any successes we have. I appreciate that he is invested in all the programs... even tennis!"
Myself (Andy Chase - Sports Information Student Assistant)
If I had not met you, I probably would have never figured out that being an SID was a thing. Working with you has been a blast so far, and I am excited for the next year and half working with you and what it will have to offer. Thank you, Adam.
