Big Innings Lift Concordia to Sweep of Baseball
Seward, NE – The Hastings College baseball team ran into a Concordia team that had its sticks working well as the Broncos dropped game one 13-1 and game two 11-5 on Tuesday afternoon.

Seward, NE – The Hastings College baseball team ran into a Concordia team that had its sticks working well as the Broncos dropped game one 13-1 and game two 11-5 on Tuesday afternoon.
The Bulldogs had a big third inning plating 11 runs en route to the 13-1 victory. Concordia also hit three home runs in the game.
Eli Merritt would go 2-for-3 with a home run of his own.
The Bulldogs would again have a big inning in game two scoring seven runs in the third to open up a 9-1 lead.
Hastings would close the gap in the seventh inning scoring three runs while taking advantage of two Concordia errors. Matt Lucero would also pick up a RBI single to center to round out the scoring at 11-5.
Lucero went 3-for-4 with two RBIs and a run scored in game two. Mason Masur went 2-for-4 with two runs scored in the loss.
Hastings is now 8-18 (2-4) on the year and will be back in action Saturday as Doane comes to town for a doubleheader with first pitch set for 1:00 pm out at Duncan Field.
