Women's Soccer Falls in NAIA Second Round to #5-Seed John Brown
(Siloam Springs, AR) – In the second round of the NAIA National Tournament with a spot to the Round of 16 on the line, fifth-seeded John Brown scored the first two goals of the match. Hastings would make it 2-1 going to the half, but the Golden Eagles came out and scored two more in the second half to win, 4-1.

John Brown scored in the 12th minute and again in the 17th minute to take a 2-0 lead. Hastings got a goal back in the 18th minute, as sophomore Madison Rhodes headed in a pass from junior Jasmin Bislev Nielsen.
Bislev Nielsen had a great scoring opportunity in the 42nd minute, but the equalizing shot attempt glanced off the bottom of the cross bar and stayed out, keeping the game at 2-1 going to the half.
John Brown outshot the Broncos, 5-2, in the first half and 4-1 in shots on goal. Sophomore Tatiana Villasenor recorded both first half saves for the Broncos.
The Golden Eagles came out of the break and scored in the 57th and 66th minutes to take a 4-1 lead. Rhodes had a shot on goal before those two goals and Bislev Nielsen had a shot blocked in the 63rd minute as Hastings tried to come back. The score held, as John Brown won the contest, 4-1.
For the game, John Brown outshot the Broncos, 14-4 overall, and 8-2 in shots on goal. Rhodes and Bislev Nielsen each attempted two shots, with Rhodes having the two on goal. Freshman goalkeeper Autumn Button recorded two saves in the second half.
The loss ends the Hastings 2025 season with a 16-4-3 record and GPAC Tournament Champions.
