(Hastings, NE) – In the final event of the homecoming weekend, the women's soccer team played to a scoreless draw against Dakota Wesleyan on Saturday.
In the first half, junior Madie Miles got a shot on goal in the ninth minute and sophomore Sophia Lee put a shot on goal in the 42nd minute, but the Tigers forced a scoreless first half.
Hastings took four shots in the second half, while Dakota Wesleyan mustered just one shot in the half, which sophomore goalkeeper Tatiana Villasenor saved.
Freshman Avery Higgins had her shot saved by the Tiger goalkeeper in the 52nd minute and sophomore Madison Rhodes had two shots saved within the span of eight minutes during the second half to keep the match scoreless. In the 86th minute, a header by sophomore Sabrina DeHart was put on goal, but saved.
Hastings outshot the Tigers, 17-2, and 6-1 on shots on goal. Rhodes took four shots to lead the team DeHart took three shots. Villasenor saved her lone shot opportunity.
Up next, Hastings will play at Waldorf on Saturday, Oct. 4 at 3pm.
