Hennings Finishes First in Fifth Straight Meet
SIOUX CITY, IA- The Hastings College men's and women's cross country teams took part in the Briar Cliff Cross Country Invitational on Saturday, with the women's team placing 2nd in the 5K whereas the men's team finished 9th in the 8K.
Heidi Henning led the women's team with her first place finishing time of 17:59.32, the only finish below 18:00.00.
Not far behind Hennings was Karsen Keech (SR/Castle Rock, CO) who finished with a time of 18:40.28 to place 7th.
Rounding out the top five Broncos were Makayla Mudloff (JR/St. Paul, NE) (20th - 19:11.21), Aleisha McDonald (24th - 19:13.74), and Cody Selvage (SO/Lincoln, NE) (28th - 19:26.94).
On the men's side, it was Andru Hansen (JR/Lincoln, NE) leading with his 52nd place finish of 27:20.57.
Right behind Hansen was Dylan Jaure, finishing 53rd with a time of 27:25.19.
Topping off the Broncos' top five runners were Ethan Bergmann (JR/Aurora, NE) (65th - 27:44.82), Zach Hole (FR/Wichita, KS) (75th - 28:02.29), and Jarred Russell (SO/Cheyenne, WY) (79th - 28:08.93).
Next for the Broncos is a trip to Cedar Rapids, IA, on Saturday, October 20th where they will participate in the Seminole Valley Stampede hosted by Mount Mercy.
