Sodorff Named Head Tennis Coach at Hastings College
(Hastings, Nebraska) – Hastings College Lifetime Sports Director Ron Hergott announced today that Hastings College alum Josh Sodorff ('22) will return to Hastings College as the head tennis coach for both the men's and women's programs.

"Quite frankly, I was impressed with Josh's passion for the game and his love of Hastings College. I don't look at his lack of head coaching experience as a negative; I look at Josh as a young man who has an unbelievable love of the game of tennis, who wants to share his exuberance with like-minded recruits. I believe that Josh will be able to share his vision and build back the tennis program to its championship level. "
Sodorff spent the past four years as a player on the Hastings College men's tennis team where he earned 1st team All-Conference honors in 2021 at No. 1 singles and No. 1 doubles. In 2019 he garnered honorable mention All-Conference honors at No. 3 doubles. He was also a part of the 2018 Great Plains Athletic Conference regular season and tournament champions.
"I was so happy, I knew from the moment I stepped on campus my freshman year I wanted to coach here," Sodorff continued. "This is honestly a dream come true, I love this college and I'm so excited to work with the amazing people in this community."
Sodorff also worked within the Human Performance program where he interacted with over 200 student athletes helping them come up with workout plans to help prevent injuries along with rehab.
"My plan is to rebuild the program through a solid recruiting platform in the midwest," Sodorff continued. "Also to reimplement the successful coaching styles from previous coaches and bring back the program to its former glory."
Sodorff will officially begin duties at Hastings on Aug. 8.
