Laird Advances to Intercollegiate Singles National Championship Site
Sam Laird finished 9th out of 196 women in the Intercollegiate Singles Sectional Qualifier in Addison, Il yesterday. Samantha will be one of 24 women from sectionals in PA, TN, IL & TX, that will be competing for the Intercollegiate Singles National championship that has been won by former HC athlete Emily Eckhoff the past two years. The national championships are held in Baton Rouge, LA on April 18th-19th a& 22nd.
Laird was able to ride a game one of 233 and the 228 she threw in game four to get her just above the threshold to qualify for the trip to Baton Rouge.
Emily Eckhoff was the first bowler to win back-to-back individual national championships in the history of the event.

Congrats to Samantha for making the championships. For Hastings College to be represented in this prestigious national tournament for 3 years running is an awesome accomplishment.
