Women's Wrestling Voted Runner-Up in Preseason GPAC Poll
(Sioux City, IA) – The results are in from the Great Plains Athletic Conference with their Women’s Wrestling preseason poll, where Hastings College was voted to finish second.
(Sioux City, IA) – The results are in from the Great Plains Athletic Conference with their Women's Wrestling preseason poll, where Hastings College was voted to finish second.
Doane led the way with 199 points, Hastings was close behind at 190 points. Midland was third with 162 points and Waldorf was fourth with 159 points.
In the preseason conference individual rankings, senior Larissa Kaz and junior Reagen Gallaway, who won the GPAC at 131 and 138, were both picked to take first again this year. Sophomore Ruby Guerrero, who was a runner-up later year, was picked to finish second at 117. Sophomore Izzy Deeds and senior Taylor Rickley also finished second last year at GPAC and were ranked second to begin this year at 160 and 207, respectively.
Sophomore Emma Stice and senior Lisa Hoeflich were second and third at 145, while sophomore Mandy Perez was also second at 180. Redshirt-freshman Isabella Keesee was fifth at 124 and sophomore Aubrey Sharbono was fifth at 138. Redshirt-sophomore Tassie Hatch was sixth at 131, and sophomore Brooke Schilke was sixth at 160.
Hastings will have their annual Crimson vs. Black event tomorrow night at 6:30pm at Lloyd Wilson Field. They will begin their season on Saturday, Nov. 1 at the Simpson Luther Hill Invite in Indianola, IA.
