(Hastings, NE) - The Broncos took action against the Dakota Wesleyan Tigers and came out victorious with a 3-1 victory.
Senior Dakota Scuhbert got the night started with a header goal in the 7th minute thanks to a corner kick assist from junior Megan Lampe. It was the only goal in the first half as Schubert also had a chance to score in the second minute off of a penalty shot, but was unable to capitalize.
Schubert finished the game with eight total shots with five shots on goal while Lampe finished the game also having one shot as well.
In the opening minute of the second half, senior Sara Pedroza scored off a crossing pass from Schubert.
Things got tight as in the 87th minute, Dakota Wesleyan scored to cut the deficit to 2-1. But, sophomore Kailani Smile scored in the 89th minute after a shot from senior Dakota Pritchard was deflected off the goaltender where she scored her first goal in her Hastings career.
Pritchard finished the game with two shots, both of which were on goal. Additionally, junior Jesse Chartier had three shots, senior Allison Seery finished the game with two shots, and freshman Madison Rhodes had a shot that was on goal.
The Broncos next play on Saturday, October 5th at 5 pm to take on the Northwestern Red Raiders in Orange City, Iowa at De Valois Stadium.
