Men's Tennis Knocks off Univ. of Dallas for First Win
Dallas, TX – The Hastings College men’s tennis team picked up its first win of the year by defeating the University of Dallas 5-2 after losing 7-0 to Texas Wesleyan this past weekend.
Dallas, TX – The Hastings College men's tennis team picked up its first win of the year by defeating the University of Dallas 5-2 after losing 7-0 to Texas Wesleyan this past weekend.
The Broncos picked up wins at No. 1 and No. 2 doubles as Nick Smeltzer and Ethan Mins won their match 6-2. Thane Waite and Agustin Lopez also won their match 6-2 as HC claimed the much needed point.
Waite would sweep through his match at No. 2 singles 6-0, 6-0 while Mins and Lopez needed a three set tiebreaker to claim their match at No. 3 and No. 4 singles. Ryan Nickerson won his match at No. 5 singles 6-4, 6-2 to help HC secure its first win of the year.
The Broncos will be back in action Monday Mar. 25 hitting the road to take on Nebraska Wesleyan with first serve set for 2:30 pm in Lincoln, NE.
