Dance Finishes Third at GPAC Championships
Tyler Schuster - Hastings Tribune
For the third straight year in a row, the Hastings College cheer and dance teams headlined an impressive array of squads at the GPAC championships.
At Lynn Farrell Arena on Saturday afternoon, the Broncos showed up and showed out, with the dance team earning a third-place finish with a score of 73.07 and the cheer squad taking second after posting a score of 72.35.
Despite the cheer team just missing a three-peat, after two years previously in the non-stunting division, head coach Nikki Kimura said she was pleased with how things turned out.
"Our takeaway is that this is the first year with doing stunting and having guys on the team, so I'm 100 percent satisfied," she said. "It's top two in the GPAC and I'm so proud with what they accomplished through injury, eligibility, with passion. We've accomplished so much and brought a team together that many wouldn't think could come together."
