Bio
Luke Mahoney is entering his 3rd season as the sprints and 5th season as the hurdles coach for the men’s and women’s track and field teams. Coach Mahoney graduated from Nebraska Wesleyan University with a degree in business administration in 2002. He also earned his MAT degree from Doane University in 2011. Under Mahoney’s coaching the Bronco sprinters and hurdlers have earned 1 GPAC Conference Record,12 Conference Championships, 2 All-American Honors, and 2 National Championship Runner-Ups.
In Indoor, Coach Mahoney has coached the School Record Holders in the Men’s 60m HH and the Women’s 60m Dash. His Hurdlers also claim 4 of the top 10 times ran in school history in Men’s 60m HH and 4 of the top 5 60m HH times for the Women. In the Women’s 60m Dash his athletes own 4 of the top 10 times, while the Men claim 3 of the top 10. In Outdoor, Coach Mahoney has coached the School Record Holder in the Men’s 110m HH and the Women’s 100m Dash. Additionally, he has coached the 2nd fastest time in the Women’s 100m HH and 200m Dash and the 3rd fastest time in the Women’s 100m Dash and 100m HH.
As an athlete at Nebraska Wesleyan Mahoney was 8th in the NAIA in the 60m HH and 10th in the NCAA D-3 110m HH. He was a 9 time All Conference Performer in the Indoor and Outdoor High Hurdles. As a Highschool Hurdle Coach for Lincoln Southwest, Coach Mahoney coached 4 Class A State Champions and 27 State Medalists.
