Dr. John G. Yost

Dr. Yost, an orthopedic surgeon here in Hastings, has been the volunteer physician for all Hastings College athletic teams for more than 25 years.  Doc Yost began treating athletic injuries and working with athletes in the training room when it was located underneath the bleachers in the old gym.

Through Dr. Yosts's guidance and support, Hastings College can boast of having one of the finest training room facilities available.  Hastings College athletes , as well as those nationwide, have profited from his involvement with the Nebraska Medical Society and the State Activities Association.  He spear-headed a drive to make pre-participation physicals mandatory for all athletes.  Dr. Yost retired in 1988.
