1954 Football Team

The 1954 Bronco Football team is the first team being inducted into the Hastings College Athletic Hall of Fame.  The undefeated '54 team secured a spot in the record books that still stands today.

In their crimson and white uniforms, the Broncos of '54 churned through an eight-game regular season without a loss.  As champions of the Nebraska College conference, the team earned the right to play in a post-season bowl game.

Hastings College football fever was at an all-time high when the Broncos met the undefeated College of Emporia at the Mineral Water Bowl in Excelsior Springs, MO on Thanksgiving Day.  The final score of the close game ws 20-14 with a Bronco victory.  Seven members of the team were named All-Conference by the Nebraska College Conference.   In October of 1984, the '54 Broncos returned to Hastings College for a 30-year reunion of their championship team.
