Mark Chavez - Alumni Coach of the Year

Mark is married to Shala since 2003 and works a financial consultant, their daughter Carmella attending UNL studying Pre Med, son Rocky is attending Morningside U studying criminal justice and playing Football.

2012 Hastings College Alumni Coach of the Year award for his 34 year service as Defensive Coordinator and Strength Coach for the Millard North High School football team. During his tenure, the Mustangs won 5 state titles and three runner-up titles. A Millard North All-State Football alum who earned Honorable Mention All-American honors while playing football at Hastings College, Chavez has coached current and former NFL and Husker football players, including Heisman Trophy winner Eric Crouch. In 1993 Mark “Chevy”Chavez was the Defensive Ends and Special Teams Coach.  2005, he also has served as defensive line coach and special teams coach for the Omaha Beef, an Professional Indoor Football League team.  Since retiring in 2024 from Teaching and Coaching, Mark has been Consulting in various fields.
