Mitchell, SD - The Hastings College men's soccer team made it look easy in its 7-1 victory over Dakota Wesleyan on Saturday night.
It took less than two minutes for the reigning NAIA National Player of the Year to get the scoring started as Daniel Whitehall (JR/Warrington, England) found the back of the net off the Daniel Simonis (FR/Dettenheim, Germany) pass.
Whitehall would strike again in the 7th minute when Brayant Toro (SO/Cali, Colombia) found him to make it 2-0.
Hastings pushed the lead to 3-0 when Murilo Ceruli (SR/Sao Paulo, Brazil) found Toro for the goal in the 13th minute. Seven minutes later, Toro found Marc Tautz (SR/Limburg, Germany) to make it 4-0 as the rout was on.
The Broncos were not done as Whitehall recorded another hat-trick as he scored in the 31st minute to make it 5-0 and in the 39th minute Lucas Venegas (SR/Grand Island, NE) would make it 6-0 before the first half was over.
Jonathan Lopez (FR/Omaha, NE) would get the lone second half goal for the Broncos as Hastings won the game 7-1.
Hastings would out shoot DWU 21-9 and held the 12-4 advantage in shots on goal.
Hastings improves to 9-3 (4-0) on the year and will be back in action Tuesday Oct. 10 hitting the road to take on Midland with kick-off set for 7:45 p.m. in Fremont, NE.
