North Sioux City, ND - The Hastings College women harriers continue to make its way to the top of the Great Plains Athletic Conference finishing 3rd at the Briar Cliff Invite on Saturday in very tough muddy running conditions.
Janelle Bethea (SR/Glendale, AZ) ran her best race of the season finishing 6th in a time of 19:38. Heidi Hennings (JR/Ritzville, WA) finished 10th in a time of 19:56 while Sam Crossett (SO/Sandpoint, ID) placed 17th in a time of 20:13.
Rounding out the top five for Hastings was Maddy Smith (SR/Littleton, CO) finishing 20th in a time of 20:16 and Makayla Mudloff (SO/St. Paul, NE) finished 25th in a time of 20:24.
Hastings scored 71 points which tied them with Northwestern while Morningside finished 2nd with 68 points and Dordt winning the event with 60 team points.
Hastings will be back in action Oct. 21 taking part in the NAIA Seminole Valley Stampede held in Cedar Rapids, IA.
