Caldwell, ID - The Hastings College women's soccer team finished its trip out to Idaho with a solid 2-0 victory over (RV) Carroll College on Sunday afternoon.
Just like yesterday, the Broncos got off to a fast start as the Saints were called for a penalty in the box which set up the Heidi Bartsch (SR/Lincoln, NE) penalty kick to make it 1-0 in just the third minute of action.
In the 11th minute, Hastings would strike again as Bartsch would find true freshman Emily Weyant (FR/Omaha, NE) for the strike and the 2-0 lead.
Hastings would continue to dominate play through the early part of the first half as Gabbriella DiDio, Courtney Doeschot (FR/Omaha, NE), and Bartsch each recorded shots but could not find the back of the net.
From here on out, neiter team would be able to find the back of the net as Carroll would only be able to get two shots on goal. Senior transfer Lexi Harris (SR/Lincoln, NE) picked up another shutout with her two saves.
Hastings would out shoot Carroll eight to six with the Broncos holding the six to two shots on goal edge.
Hastings moves to 3-0 on the year and will be back in action Friday Sept. 8 as No. 4 Benedictine comes to town with kick-off set for 6:00 p.m. at Lloyd Wilson Field.
