Topeka, KS - The Hastings College wrestling season came down to one wrestler at nationals as Jeremiah Gerl (JR/Long Beach, CA) had the chance to finish higher then any other wrestler had in the history of Hastings College wrestling.
There he faced the No. 1 wrestler in the country in Dalton Bailey of Life University as he came in undefeated. Gerl gave him everything he could handle but would fall 5-2 sending him into the consolation bracket.
It was here where Gerl would really be tested to see if he would have a chance to fight for third place as he faced off against No. 2 John Hensley of Great Falls. Gerl would come away with the slim 2-1 victory propelling him into the third place match against No. 4 John Dennis of Grand View.
In an extremely tight match, Dennis would score the only point of the match with an escape to defeat Gerl 1-0 as Gerl would finish fourth which is the highest finish in Hastings College history.
Gerl also earned All-America status which is the Broncos first All-American since 2014.
